Kalbhat is a delicious, fragrant rice grown in the rain shadow areas of Shayadri hills. This rice is cooked by tribal farmers as a delicacy during festivals. Kalbhat is famous for it's distinctive aroma and characteristic taste. This rice is hand pounded to retain bran, which is a great source of fiber, vitamin B and minerals. Kalbhat is a part of our indigenous seed conservation project in Maharashtra.
Best used for: Our chefs love making a Risotto, Paella or a delicious Payasam with jaggery with this rice. Kalbhat tastes great with curry, daal or just as it is with a little salt and desi ghee!
